The Weight of Isolation
Done as part of an on-going international initiative to unite the internal thoughts of individuals in these trying times, this project serves as a reminder and an explorative journey on the feelings and emotions of various people during the troubling times of isolation and reminiscene.
I set out to find out the thoughts and headspace of various individuals during the lockdowns of coronavirus pandemic and how it affected them.
These stories were then recreated as dioramas containing their own thoughts to visually express the weight and unique emotions carried by different masses of people.

“After all is said and done, I feel that I am constantly shifting between two worlds. One that is real, and one that is almost dreamlike. And I would rather live in that dreamlike state of mind as what is going around in the world right now seems like it’s out of a nightmare. And that line of reality and fiction is blurred.” - Megan, Santa Fe

“Being in the hospital during this period has brought me more anxiety and self-worth issues. Being constantly examined like a test subject and being unable to have freedom, I feel the outside world is simultaneously withing reach, yet unobtainable, as I am confined to my own devices. I miss being able to see the wide open world and going to river-rafting and fishing. It is not the disease that break people, it is the emotional trauma that comes with it.” - Magnus, Bergen
